The Making of the Live Oak Plantation Road 1 Image
One day during the springtime, I saw that recent rains had the resurrection ferns awake in their full glory. Additionally, it was overcast, meaning the light was soft. So, at the end of the day, I took a drive to Live Oak Plantation Road to take some photographs of the giant live oak trees on the road, which I had been wanting to photograph for some time. I parked on a side street and set up on the side of the road. I waited for the waves of traffic to subside and tripped the shutter between the cars traveling on the road. The recent rains were evident by the puddle left on the shoulder of the canopy road. After I had been shooting for a bit, the rain began again, ending the photo shoot.
In the final image, the live oak trees tower over Live Oak Plantation Road. Their long limbs are adorned with resurrection ferns, which add to the green of their canopy over the road. Grey Spanish moss also hangs from their limbs.
