Panama City Beach, Florida
Panama City Beach is a popular beach vacation town in Bay County in northwest Florida. It is situated in the Florida Panhandle, between Apalachicola in the east and Destin in the west. Panama City Beach is located just over the Hathaway Bridge from Panama City, along the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's Emerald Coast (named for the emerald-green water).
According to the 2020 census, the city's population is now 18,094 and Bay County's population is 175,216.
The Panama City Beach economy largely relies on tourism, as it is a popular beach vacation and Spring Break destination. Other than the famous white sand beaches with emerald waters, tourist attractions include Gulf World Marine Park, ZooWorld Zoological Park, and Shipwreck Island Waterpark.
